The workshop

I use mainly hand tools which means that I can make sure that the detail of each instrument is the closest as possible to the original.  All jacks and registers are made and finished by hand in the workshop. Keyboards are made using carefully seasoned woods, usually straight grained limewood or pine according to the instrument.  Touchplates and sharps are either of african ebony or bog oak and bone.  I have a unique stock of soundboard wood (european spruce) which comes from the mountains near Vienna.  Casework woods depend on the original instrument but can be any number of woods; poplar, pine, cypress, walnut etc.
