Fretted and unfretted
clavichords
The clavichord is often overlooked partly because of its low volume and partly because it is not widely known. As an instrument for practice and study it is an ideal keyboard instrument where space is limited. The musician has at his fingertips an instrument whose dynamic range and expressive qualities are exceptional. In the images you can see a number of instruments that have come from my workshop. They include copies of unfretted clavichords by
Silbermann and Hoffmann, double fretted instruments by Hubert and a triple fretted anonymous clavichord in cedar wood as well as two anonymous unfretted instruments.
