He worked with the architect F.W.B Charles in Worcester, specialising in the restoration of medieval timber-framed buildings, before becoming a designer on classic yachts, designing the wood-panelled interiors of such famous sailing yachts as Sumurun, built in 1914 and Karenita. He worked in France, the Caribbean, Italy and Britain. He has lived in south west France for the past 15 years where he practices as an architect. Being both a member of the French Ordre des Architectes as well as the Royal Institute of British Architects, he is qualified to practise in both countries and has invaluable on-the-spot experience of French artisans, construction materials and building regulations. She also provides a one-to-one non-architectural assistance service for clients who are encountering problems or administrative frustrations due to their lack of French or the fact they are not living on-the-spot. This frees up Sean Rawnsley to concentrate exclusively on the architectural side of each project. Anne speaks fluent French and has had experience in catering, journalism and running her own garden tools mail order business. She currently also does the French and British PR for Cayeux Iris and organises their stand at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
