Ruckers
Couchet 1680
Couchet 1680

Double manual harpsichord
after
Joseph Joannes Couchet   1680

Description

The early history of the original harpsichord and its extremely fine tone makes this a very valuable example of the great beauty and sophistication that harpsichord making reached by the end of the 18th century. This instrument, by one of the last members of the great Ruckers tradition, was modified by two great French builders,  Blanchet in 1758 and then by Pascal Taskin in 1781 thereby giving an unsurpassed pedigree.
